Boston Terrier-
The American Gentleman

The Boston Terrier is a lively little companion recognized by his tight tuxedo jacket, sporty but compact body, and the friendly glow in his big, round eyes. Sturdy but portable, people-oriented, and always up for a brisk walk to the park, these wonderful little dogs make for a great companion for most any household.

Grooming

Exercise

Bostons don't require excessive grooming. A bath and brush out every 6-8 weeks is perfect for this wash and wear breed! While they do shed, it is not excessive, and shedding can be minimized by keeping them brushed with a Zoom Groom or similar rubber brush.

Nail trimming should be done every 2-4 weeks, and teeth should be maintained by allowing them to chew on treats such as dental chews, bully sticks, or bones, or even brushing their teeth for them.

Boston Terriers are perfect family pets, or sport dogs. They are really up for anything any time, whether it be laying around the house, going for a walk, or doing sports like agility or FastCAT.  At PawshK9s our Boston's favorite activities include chasing a ball, roughhousing with the other dogs, and of course, taking a nap in the sun.

Remember, no dog is meant to be fat, the Boston Terrier is a small, muscular dog that loves to explore and get a workout in, while also taking a nap at the end of the day.

Training

Training your Boston is the key to having a happy, well-behaved member of the family. Bostons are very treat motivated and learn quickly.
They can be stubborn, but keeping your training protocol fun and interesting will help make sure you are setting them up for success.
